Mandai Makeover

Families are fond of zoos and parks. When families get a chance to bond, zoos and parks are their first consideration. Singapore Tourism Board (STB), know this for a fact so they are thinking about revamping and expanding Mandai – the zoo precinct here. STB will partner with the Temasek Holdings in this project. Temasek Holdings is the major shareholder and the operator of Wildlife Reserves Singapore.

On January 14, 2015, the Ministry of Trade and Industry released that the partnership between STB and the Temasek Holdings will grasp the government’s vision for the Mandai precinct to be a truly world-class attraction. It is expected that the project will be completed by the end of 2020. The overhaul made many happy and excited.

Details about the development are still being ironed. As of the moment, it would benefit if you can get the whole picture of the Mandai precinct. Not all are familiar about the precinct. Here are some places included in the Mandai precinct:

  • Former Mandai Orchid Garden: Former Mandai Orchid Garden is within the precinct. The Orchid Garden is within an agricultural land. This only means that there is plenty of space for development.
  • Night Safari: Night Safari is famous not only here but around the world. The Night Safari is surrounded with other parks like Singapore Zoo and River Safari.
  • River Safari: River Safari is also a famous tourist spot here. It is also surrounded with other parks like the Night Safari and the Singapore Zoo.
  • Singapore Zoo: The Zoo is one of the best here in Asia without a doubt. STB will make it better by revamping it. The Zoo is surrounded with parks like Night Safari and River Safari.
  • Executive Golf Course: For people who want to have a good time by playing golf, they can go to the Executive Golf Course. The Golf Course is surrounded with other sports and recreation establishments.

According to reports, there will be a fifth zoo that will join the current zoos like the River Safari, Bird Park, Night Safari and the Singapore Zoo. There are also other ideas apart from revamping the zoos. News say there will be a jungle-adventure theme park, suspension bridges and tree canopies that visitors can enjoy.

That should paint a picture of the Mandai precinct. If you are excited, you have to tune up and see what the future holds. In the meantime, you only need to wait with enthusiasm and positivity.
